During the first nine weeks, we worked on place value, estimation, multi-digit addition and subtraction, and multiplication by one digit. This nine weeks, we will begin we two-digit by two-digit multiplication, begin working on division by one digit, factors, multiples, patterns, and begin fractions.
During the first nine weeks, we worked on the chocolate unit and informational text comprehension. We focused on inferences, plot, setting, theme, and summarizing. This nine weeks we will begin by talking about allusions, idioms, metaphors, and more, as well as start diving into chapter books.
We began the year reviewing simple parts of speech, including nouns, verbs, quotations, apostrophes, numbers in writing, commonly confused words, just to name a few. This nine weeks we will begin identifying sentences, subject/predicate, and look more in depth into parts of speech.
Students learned the basis of the scientific method and lab safety, followed by the states of matter. We will wrap up talking about matter and begin energy this nine weeks.
Ohio history is in full swing! In the first nine weeks, we talked about the geography of Ohio and the different regions in Ohio. This nine weeks we will discuss Native American groups that helped form Ohio.
